Drywall Finishing & Taping in Western Kentucky & Southern Indiana

Taping, mudding, corner bead and sanding to a smooth finish — the house comes out ready to paint — in Owensboro and all around it.

Finishing is the part of a drywall job nobody notices when it's done right and everybody notices when it isn't. It's the tape over every seam, the mud built up in coats and sanded down, the corner bead run straight along every edge, until the walls and ceiling read as one smooth surface instead of a grid of separate sheets. In the older homes around downtown Owensboro and Henderson, where plaster walls are being replaced with drywall room by room, the finish work is what makes the new wall look like it belongs in a house with tall baseboards and old trim. In new construction, it's what turns a house full of hung sheets into rooms that are actually ready for a painter to walk in and start.

Deny does the taping, mudding, sanding and corner work on homes and commercial spaces, new construction and remodels, across Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Every wall gets sanded smooth enough that light raking across it at an angle doesn't show the seams underneath, so the house is genuinely ready for a painter, not just close. Free estimate by WhatsApp or text to (618) 971-8126, whether it's a whole house waiting on the finish crew or a few rooms in an older home getting converted from plaster.

What's included

Finishing starts with taping every seam between sheets, embedding the tape in a first coat of mud so it holds flat against the wall. More coats go on wider each time, feathered out at the edges so there's no ridge to feel or see once it's painted. Corner bead goes on outside corners so they stay straight and don't chip over time. Inside corners get taped and coated by hand. Once the mud is fully dry, every wall and ceiling gets sanded smooth, with a light pass afterward to catch any spot the tape or a screw is still showing through. What's left is a wall ready for primer and paint, not a wall that still needs work.

How we work

Send a photo

Text or WhatsApp a photo of the hung drywall to (618) 971-8126 so Deny can see how much finishing the room needs.

Free estimate

Deny looks at the walls, in person or from the photos, and gives a free estimate for the taping and finishing.

Taping and mud

Every seam gets taped and built up in coats of mud, corner bead goes on, and the room is left to dry between coats.

Walk through

Once the walls are sanded smooth, Deny walks the room with you to check it's ready for a painter.

Drywall Finishing & Taping by city

A basement finished in Owensboro, a plaster house converted in Evansville, a cracked ceiling seam in Madisonville and a builder's whole house in Newburgh each need a different plan — and we handle all four.

Common questions

Do you do the painting too?
No. Deny finishes the drywall so it's smooth and ready for primer and paint, and a painter takes it from there.
Can you match an older plaster wall with drywall finishing?
Deny finishes new drywall put in next to older plaster so the seam between them disappears once it's sanded and ready for paint.
How do you keep seams from showing once the wall is painted?
Multiple coats of mud feathered out wide at the edges, then a full sanding pass, so there's no ridge for the paint to catch light on.
Do you finish drywall in commercial spaces or just houses?
Both. Deny tapes and finishes drywall in homes and in commercial buildouts across Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
